2018 Conference Update

11 October 2017

We are pleased to announce that the NZCCA Conference will be held at the Rutherford Hotel in Nelson from 10 – 12 May 2018.  This is the first time we have held a conference in Nelson where we look forward to being in a beautiful part of NZ and supporting our members and other counsellors in the Nelson region.

Our keynote speakers are Brian Broom and Dr Ruth McConnell.  Their presentations will be based on the following themes:

  • The spirit and the ordinary; the transcendent and the immanent in the healing role
  • Integrating spirituality, faith, science, consciousness and all of that stuff; the alienation of NOT being a reductionist
  • A personal journey out of rigid fundamentalism, through the temptations of inauthentic belonging, the constraints of powerful conformist systems, and the trials of family tragedy. What do I know?”
  • the theme of non-dual spirituality and the implications for therapy.

The conference will start with arrival/registration at 6pm on Thursday 10th and will conclude at 1pm on Saturday the 12th.  The earlier than usual finish is to allow people to catch flights out of Nelson.  We have made some great changes to the conference programme that will accommodate the early finish as well as allow time where you can connect/network with other counsellors.  The conference fees are being confirmed and we hope to email you these details soon.

We suggest you book your flights early as flights into and out of Nelson are limited.  We have secured a special room rate at the Rutherford Hotel for $180 per night (Premium Room, Thursday and Friday night).  Please book these rooms directly with the hotel using booking code 361953.

Conference fees and more details to come in November.
