I am taking some time out from counselling; what are my options for placing my membership on hold?

If you are taking time out from counselling, i.e. not seeing clients, you can place your membership on hold for between 6 months and 3 years.  To have your membership reinstated you need to advise us that you have begun seeing clients again and send us a copy of a supervisor contract showing you have re-engaged in supervision.  If three years have passed you will need to reapply for membership.  There is no fee payable while your membership is on hold, and if you wish you can continue to receive newsletters and other information by paying a fee equivalent to the Affiliate Subscription.  Please note that you must let us know in advance if you are intending to take time out from counselling practice.

What must I do to put my membership on hold?

You need to notify the Association office that you wish to place your membership on hold prior to commencing your time away.  You cannot back date your on hold status.

How long can I put my membership on hold?

You can place your membership on hold for between minimum of 6 months and for a maximum of 3 years.

My membership is on hold; how do I reinstate it?

To have your membership reinstated you need to advise us that you have begun seeing clients again and send us a copy of a supervisor contract showing you have re-engaged in supervision. (A letter from your supervisor is sufficient).

I have paid my annual membership fees; why haven't I received my Annual Certificate of Practice?
